Inverclyde Sports Personality Awards Are Back!

The Inverclyde Sports Personality Awards are back!

Following lockdown and very little sporting activity in 2020, the organisers are glad to announce that the next Inverclyde Sports Personality awards will cover both 2020 and 2021. The search has started for the Inverclyde sports people who have made the headlines in either or both of these two years.

The nine categories of award for 2020/21 remain the Inverclyde Senior Sports Personality of the Year, Junior Sports Personality of the Year, Disabled Sports Personality of the Year, Coach of the Year, Club of the Year, Team of the Year, School Team of the Year, Young Volunteer of the Year (up to age 25) and Adult Volunteer of the Year.

Nomination forms are now available online at www.inverclydesportspersonality.com and can either be completed on screen, saved and submitted online or downloaded and completed by hand.

Either way an up-to-date pic of the nominee in action should accompany the completed nomination form and these returned to the organisers by Monday 7th March either online, by email to ispagreenock@gmail.com or by post, with the requested photographs. Late entries will be accepted for a  few days thereafter.

On behalf of the organisers, Chris Jewell from New Horizons Marketing said:

‘Our last awards covered 2019 and they will be hard to beat. Voting for the 2019 nominees shattered all records by a mile with almost 105,000 votes cast and some very worthy winners. Anyone can nominate with the nominee’s permission for these awards in one or more categories so we would encourage all Inverclyde’s sports clubs to nominate their successful athletes and players, while also looking to family members and colleagues not to be shy in nominating a family member or friend they know has done particularly well in 2020 or 2021.

The winners will be announced at a glittering awards dinner at the Greenock Town Hall on Friday 13th May. Once again, the net proceeds from the Awards will go towards providing grants to aspiring Inverclyde sportspeople to help them compete at regional, national and international events.

Recent sponsors of these prestigious awards include West College Scotland, Specsavers Greenock, Inverclyde Leisure, Inverclyde Council, sportscotland, Amazon, Ogilvie Homes and Ice Catering and Events.

More information about the awards is available is on the website www.inverclydesportspersonality.com.
