Rookie Lifeguard Junior Lifesaving Programme Causes a SPLASH at the Waterfront
The Waterfront leisure complex has introduced a junior lifesaving programme called Rookie lifeguard.
Young people aged 8-12 years old have had the opportunity to learn valuable water skills that could save their own life or the lives of others, whilst enjoying fun sessions and receiving recognition for there achievements.
Rookie lifeguards will work for bronze, silver, gold awards with three awards at each level, 2 qualified Rookie instructors deliver these awards.
The picture shows the first lot of young people along with their instructors (Marc McFarlane, David Calder and Kenny Fulton) to achieve the Bronze award.
The next Bronze Rookie lifeguard will start on 9th November at 1.00pm at the Waterfront Leisure Complex.
