Work is underway at Gourock Outdoor Swimming Pool, to get the pool ready for its Summer Season Opening on Saturday 26 April.  

Situated on the coastline at Gourock, Gourock Outdoor Swimming Pool provides the opportunity of swimming outdoors from April to September in heated salt water, taken from the River Clyde. The water is filtered and cleaned to the highest possible hygiene standards and is maintained at a minimum temperature of 84 degrees. The pool also has spacious patio areas, with tremendous views over the Clyde estuary and the Argyll Hills beyond.
 
Inverclyde Leisure is proud to be involved in the management of such a unique facility, and we are busy making the preparations for what we hope to be another busy season.

Gourock Outdoor Pool originally opened in 1909 with major refurbishments in 1935 when the bather/spectator capacity was increased and in 1969 when a water heating system was installed. Over the last few years various items of pool plant machinery have been upgraded to maintain the excellent water quality and service to visitors. The pool continues to be a popular facility with locals, day trippers and tourists.

There are various fun activities programmed throughout the season. From pool parties and inflatable fun sessions to inflatable bouncers and great music. For the more serious swimmer there is designated swimming times for fitness programmed throughout the week.

Situated in Bay Street, Port Glasgow just off the main Glasgow/Greenock road and behind the Port Glasgow Library, the Port Glasgow Swimming Pool has been extensively refurbished and re-opened in April 2004, delighting the local community. The facility provides a bright and friendly atmosphere for both the general public and for a number of groups including various swimming clubs and a particularly strong over 50s group.

There is specially designed access for disabled groups and a general purpose room for Health Initiative meetings, GP referral groups, private parties and other community activities. A popular feature of the pool is its health suite and sauna which is easily accessible from the pool.

The management and staff at this friendly community pool aim to make your visit as enjoyable and as beneficial as possible.
